A Brief Inside Story of Diane and John’s Inspiring Journey
When we moved from Halifax Nova Scotia to Moncton New Brunswick in 2006 we were searching for something. We couldn’t quite put our fingers on it at the time, but we knew that something different was in order. I was dealing with anxiety and panic attacks, and was worried about what other people would think of me if they found out.
That’s when it happened.
On Feb 8, 2007 while I was cross stitching, I decided to watch Oprah for whatever reason, it was not a show that I usually watched. She started talking about this book called "The Secret". She had Rhonda Byrne and another guest from the book on her show.
This is the FIRST time I have ever been this moved by any guest on that show. This concept is unlike any self-help book I have ever read, but after watching Oprah I had one of those "light bulb" moments.
Once the show was over, I ran upstairs to John and told him about what I just watched and said “I must have that DVD!” We ordered it immediately.
That night we went out and there it was, only this time in book form. "The Secret" was all around me! I grabbed the book and started reading it right in the store.
The DVD came in a few days later, and our search for something different was over. We were ready to start down our new path.
Shortly after that defining moment, various books entered our consciousness, including "The Teachings of Abraham" and some others that made everything fall into place.
One day John saw one of my former employers and the subject of The Secret came up, which nicely dovetailed into a conversation about Reiki. It turned out that Peter was a Reiki practitioner and he wanted to give us a session. Even though we had never heard of Reiki, we were willing, even excited, to try it out.
All I can say is WOW! When the session was over we were even more convinced and determined about our new direction. We knew in that moment we wanted to be Healers, and we both went on to become Reiki Master\Teacher, The S.A.C. Master/Teacher and Chios Master Teacher.
It’s amazing to see where I am now compared to just 11 years ago. I am confident, have lots of self-esteem, and I love what I do. This passion for our work reveals and manifests itself every day in the relief and joy of our clients.
